Robert C. Warren Memorial Service Award

By Sleeper, Jeanne*

Presented to Peter A. Davidson

Peter Davidson, a partner at Ervin Cohen & Jessup in Los Angeles, was awarded the prestigious Robert C. Warren Memorial Service Award at the California Receivers Forum’s Loyola V Symposium on January 19, 2013.

Peter has been an active member, CRF LA-OC Board member, and Editor and Columnist for Receivership News since the founding of the LA-OC Chapter and the state organization.

Peter started the concept of the “CRF Newsletter” soon after the organization was formed. He was the first Editor/Publisher and wrote many of the initial articles for the 4-8 page publication from 1997 to 2002.

In the transition of the Receivership News in 2002 to a more complex publishing project taken over by Bob Mosier and Kirk Rense, Peter took on the role of a regular columnist for “Ask the Receiver.” To date, he has written his widely read column in the re-branded newsletter in 36 issues from 2002 through 2012. Peter’s contributions and service to the organization have been substantial, continuous, and of the highest quality from 1997 through 2012. He is the fourth recipient of the Robert C. Warren Service Award.

In 2003, the CRF State Board of Directors created the Robert C. Warren Memorial Service Award to honor Bob Warren who was an exceptional contributor to the formation of the Receivers Forum and perhaps the organizations’ most positive and enthusiastic cheerleader.

The award was designed to be given out periodically to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to receivership practice and the receivership community. The award itself is custom-made artist’s glass with a personal inscription and a display stand.

Since its initial posthumous presentation to Robert C. Warren, with Rob Warren accepting the award on his mother’s behalf, the award has only been presented to Edythe Bronston in 2004 and to Kirk Rense in 2011.
