After an extremely distinguished career on the Los Angeles Superior Court bench (both before and after his purported retirement), we have heard in the halls that Judge Robert O’Brien has stepped down, and that the new judge replacing Judge Ann Jones in Department 86 is Judge Joanne B. O’Donnell. While few members have appeared thus far in her court, we have heard that she is logical and well-reasoned in her tentative rulings and in her demeanor on the bench.
