What does the future hold for the economy? The California Receivers Forum,
in conjunction with Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, will co-host the
Loyola VIII Symposium at the Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel on January
23-24, 2020. The conference theme, “Connect to a Changing Economic Future”
highlights industries likely to be served by receivers, legal routes that
may better suit your clients’ needs, and the advice of pros who have
delivered results in challenging economic times. The Symposium features
some new voices and fresh perspectives. Reconnect with statewide experts
and network with the industry professionals that
support your cases.
Leading indicators point to a possible recession on the
horizon – is your business prepared?
Dr. Christopher Thornberg, founder of Beacon Economics, is the Keynote
Speaker following the Welcome Dinner at The Pacific Club on Thursday,
January 23. Dr. Thornberg is an expert in economic and revenue
forecasting, regional economics, economic policy, and labor and real
estate markets. He became nationally known for forecasting the subprime
mortgage market crash that began in 2007, and was one of the few
economists on record to predict the global economic recession that
followed.
The Friday, January 24 Keynote Speaker focuses on federal equity
receiverships, and how they can be more advantageous than bankruptcy, or
state court
actions, in a variety of businesses and economic climates. We are honored
to have Houston attorney Zack Clement, who has led numerous financial
restructuring transactions and insolvency litigation matters during his 40
years of law practice at Sidley, Weil and Fulbright in Houston.
Other programs include “Ask the Receiver”, an expert-led panel
addressing the most interesting questions submitted by Symposium
participants. Additional sessions include cannabis, post-judgment
receiverships, federal law and Rule 66, and health and safety. The
Symposium also features more
than ten luncheon table discussions on contemporary topics for newer or
veteran receivers and their counsel. The CRF LA-OC Chapter Young
Professionals Council (YPC) wraps up the Symposium with a Micro Brew and
Shrub Tasting Thursday at 5pm.
The Loyola Symposium is only held every two to three years. Don’t miss
the insights and connections to position your business for the coming
engagement opportunities. Be sure to reserve the dates of January 23-24,
2020 on your calendar, and join us at the Loyola VIII Symposium!
